Scores & Ratings
Dipiti Scores
The Dipiti Community Team has carefully created criteria by which each site is evaluated and assigned a "Dipiti Score" before you ever see it on our site.
The process starts with rigorous and ongoing web crawls to uncover the most potentially helpful community and expert sites available today, regardless of their business size, brand name or marketing budget. Then, each site is evaluated and a Dipiti Score is given based on the scoring criteria and standards of the Dipiti Community Team before becoming available on Dipiti.com.
The evaluation results are shown on a 1.0 to 5.0 (lowest to highest) Dipiti Scoring scale. Each site is scored relative to others within their specific category: Health, Legal, Money or Pets. The overall Dipiti Score is statistically-based and is the average of all the criteria scores, equally weighted in importance (see below.) It is our goal to refresh Dipiti Scores on a quarterly basis.
The scores for Community and Expert sites are based on the following criteria:
Our Criteria for Community Web Sites:
- The number of threads (conversations) compared to other sites in their category, e.g., Health, Legal, Money & Pets - More conversations means a greater chance that you may find something useful to read.
- Message board activity level - the number of responses to each conversation (relative to others in the category, e.g., Health, Legal, Money & Pets) - More responses to each conversation means a greater chance that if you post something, someone may answer.
- Date of last post on the message boards - Are people still active there? Might another person respond to you fairly soon or take weeks?
- Search functionality - How easy is it to find relevant information from just the message boards? The more search choices, the higher the score.
- Consumer control of your privacy - How sensitive is the site when protecting your personal information - always an important issue when discussing possible personal issues.
Our Criteria for Expert Web Sites:
- Level of professional contact offered - Does the site provide you the ability to contact a professional on your terms, when you decide or when they decide and by what methods?
- Level of personalization or customization of results - How easy is it to sort your search results vs. one long list of names?
- Customer support ease - How easy is it to contact the site if you have questions?
- Consumer control of your privacy - How sensitive the site is when protecting your personal information - always an important issue when discussing possible personal issues.
User Ratings
Every day, people just like you participate on Dipiti by finding, connecting and providing feedback (User Ratings) on helpful communities. The 1.0 to 5.0 stars (low to high) User Rating is based on reviews and opinions of other Dipiti participants, and may help assist you to find web sites to meet your needs. The Dipiti Community Team is not involved in deciding what rating our participants give to any web sites.
Dipiti encourages our participants who rate community and expert sites to consider criteria like these when providing their rating:
- How easy was the site to use?
- Did you find useful content for your issue?
- How helpful, friendly or knowledgeable were the other users?
- Would you use the site again?
